Branding a Campaign that Levels the Playing Field

You don’t need a big budget to build big ideas. Small businesses might not get a flashy TV ad, but they’ll always be our MVPs. For every big brand that advertised during the Big Game, Mailchimp created an ad for a similar small business brand and ran it on their social channels. We also created a one-off page on our website to house all of the clips, highlight each individual small business brand, and linked directly to each of their sites.

Oremland created the campaign's keyart – Mailchimp's loveable winking mascot Freddie suited up for the Big Game in a retro football helmet. He appeared as the avatar on all Mailchimp social channels, as the opening animated bug for each small business spot, as a custom branded hashtag emoji on twitter, and even wound up on limited-edition merchandise.
