Autobiography

By Evan Oremland

Oremland specializes in crafting clever, memorable, and creative experiences for forward-thinking brands, artists, and consumers worldwide. Most recently as Associate Creative Director at AKQA – Evan collaborated on multiple work streams via various mediums including but not limited to the campaign for one of Playstation 5's main launch titles, Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, other games outside the Sony family such as Bethesda's Fallout76, a handful of other unreleased titles, as well as user experience for luxury brand Sub-Zero Wolf and Cove.

Prior to AKQA, Evan lead the Sapient Miami’s interactive creative for the resurgence of the FIAT Chrysler Automobiles group – including FIAT, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, and later Alfa Romeo. And before that he worked at Big Spaceship in Dumbo, Brooklyn. There he contributed to and lead award-winning projects for Corona, Miramax, Glacéau (makers of VitaminWater, SmartWater), Adobe, Sony Pictures, A&E, the United States Air Force, USA Network, and Ford. Most notably, viral sensations Glacéau.com, The Corona Beach, and the Institute for Human Continuity: a year-long integrated campaign for Sony Pictures’ disaster film 2012. Oremland’s ‘IHC’ logo and identity made a cameo in the film’s most climactic scenes.

Before joining Big Spaceship, Evan cut his teeth in the industry by helping build and head the interactive group for Night Agency, then based in lower Manhattan. At Night he lead the creative for MTV2’s re-brand and viral teaser campaign “The2HeadedDog” which won Creativity Magazine’s Top Pick for Digital Advertising in 2005. The site collected 40 million hits in under a month and a half and is considered one of the first branded campaigns to feature user-uploaded video.

His contributions in commercial advertising have garnered the attention of major industry award shows including Cannes Lions, The Emmy’s, One Show, and the D&AD Awards, as well as the more digitally focused Webby’s, Creativity Online, the FWA, AdobeMAX, HOW Design Awards, FITC, and Communicator Awards. His personal artwork has been shown at the MoMA and New Museum in New York City as well as the MMCA in Seoul, Korea. Evan holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Studio Art from Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. He is currently back home, living and working in Washington, DC.
