Extending USA Network's drama In Plain Sight into an interactive game

USA asked us to develop an online extension of their witness protection drama, In Plain Sight. So we came up with an episodic game rolled out over the course of eleven weeks that draws you deep into the world of witness protection by transforming a television drama into a casual interactive experience. The show was extended online by building its characters into the game so that you can work alongside them.

In Plain Sight: WITSEC Confidential Case Study

Series star US Marshal Mann presents you with a new challenge every week. As a US Marshal, you review case files, conduct interviews and scour Albuquerque for clues. The missions change with each challenge. You may need to hunt down a runaway witness, solve a kidnapping, or investigate a murder. In order to solve the mission, you'll need to make wise use of the tools at your disposal: a cell phone, an SUV, and a computer. The rest as they say in the force, is up to you.

Aside from collecting some prestigious awards and notoriety for the site's innovation, for each week's challenge the star of the show took time out to film portions specifically for our site that we wrote. We also influenced the look and feel of In Plain Sight's graphical introduction on air. And last but not least, we thoroughly enjoyed photoshopping ourselves into the storylines as characters – mostly the suspects.
